List Gateway: Create a Count
All counts are free of charge and will provide you with the number of expected results and pricing. This allows you to gauge output and run queries more efficiently.
-
Click List Gateway HomeBase™ or List Gateway BizBase™ tab.
-
Define your geography.
-
Geography of interest may also be defined via Marketscape, Retail Target or MediaTarget. If you linked into List Gateway via any of the aforementioned map modules no further geography selection is required.
-
You can add any number of areas from any of the geographic levels.
NOTE: The logical operator among geographic types is “OR”, that is, the query looks for results that fall into at least one of the geographic criteria.
-
Geographic areas can overlap, but all contact information will only be included once in a list.
-
The Radius tab allows you to define a radius of up to 25 miles around one specific address. Limit of 1 radius selection per query.
-
You can also define the desired geography by uploading a file that contains ZIP, NPA NXXs or Area Codes.
Defining area of interest via a specific list of ZIP Codes allows you to easily self define area of interest that may not be provided via the currently available geographies such as DMA Regions.

Filters are grouped into categories. Hover over or Click any Filter Name (Heading) in List Gateway to display a description. The general rule for how query options are applied is:
-
The logical operator used to connect Multiple Options selected under a given type of indicator, i.e., filter grouping, is OR.
This means that it will return results when any of the selected conditions are true.
-
When multiple options are selected for different types of indicators, i.e., groupings, then those conditions are connected by the AND logical operator.
System will return results only when all the conditions are true.
-
Once you’ve defined all your filters click Quick Count. The Summary screen displays a list of all filters defined.
-
Click Count to generate a count and pricing.
-
Once you are satisfied with your count results and want to create the list click Create List.
-
If you want to use the list more than once then click Append Fields to List and select the Multiple Use check box. This will affect pricing.
-
Append Fields to List also allows you to modify output fields included in List. These selections also affect pricing. It is recommended that additional output fields be included when generating counts to obtain the accurate full price.
